Sources & Uses Budget Template
A Sources and Uses budget (S&U) is one of the most important business planning tools that a startup food co-op will use.
The main purpose is to ensure that co-op organizers know:
- how much money will be needed to open their grocery storefront
- where that money will come from
- and what amount will be needed at each stage to keep the project going
This is a downloadable spreadsheet template (.xlsx) originally developed by Bill Gessner of CDS Consulting Co-op.
In early 2025, it was revised and updated by Sarah Lebherz and Don Moffitt of Columinate.
