2025 Up & Coming
Startup Food Co-op Conference
Startup Food Co-op Conference
The Up & Coming Conference is for communities that want to open a food co-op.
It’s two full days where you and 300+ of your peers from across the U.S. will share expert knowledge and build a movement together!
More than a theme—it’s a call to action. Through collaboration, innovation, and democratic ownership, we’re not just launching stores—we’re building movements, transforming local economies, and rewriting the future of food systems. We’ll learn from each other’s journeys, sharpen our skills, and co-create the tools and networks needed to thrive. This year’s theme comes from cooperative scholar, organizer, and gifted wordsmith, amaha sellassie, who may just have coined this phrase (as far as we can find)!
For the second year in a row, PFC Natural Grocery & Deli is our host co-op for the conference.
PFC is a community-owned natural grocery store AND farmers market operator in Kalamazoo that started in 1970.
